Our
lifelong aquatic experiences, as well as our hearts, tell
us that swimming is best introduced to infant/toddlers in
a comforting, caring, nurturing, fun environment that encourages
children to learn at their own pace and style.
Baby Bear swimmers are ages six months to three years old
and require an adult in the water with them.
All of our Baby Bear curriculum is developed around, and
works towards, mastery of five key swim skills. Everyone activity
we do focuses on at least one of these skills and our goals
for graduation require children to demonstrate proficiency
in them.
- Having Fun - - Very important!
- Submersions - - Voluntarily holding their breath and swimming
under water
- Kicking - - The primary way babies can propel themselves
in the water
- Pool Wall Practice - - A critical safety skill
- Independence in the Water - - Executing all above skill
with little or no assistance
