Owner and head
instructor Katie Reding-Hall was a nationally recognized collegiate
swimmer and captain of the women’s swim team at the University
of California, Berkeley. She has been swimming, coaching, and
teaching for over 24 years.
A Bay Area
native, Katie moved to Reno in 2004 for a better quality of
life. Immediately falling in love with the community, she
decided to make her career her true passion – teaching
children how to swim. The school’s name, Silver Bear
Swim School, incorporates her new love of Nevada - the Silver
State - and her continuing love of her alma mater –
the Cal Bears.
Katie’s experience and interests uniquely
position her and her staff to teach every level of swimming,
from infants learning basic submersion skills, to competitive
swimmers wanting to hone their stroke mechanics.
Katie, her husband Tim (an avid triathlete
and Ironman) and son Jack, live in southwest Reno with their
yellow lab Oliver, who also loves to swim! |
